SCARBOROUGH: Roger W. Theberge, 48, of Two Rod Road, died Wednesday, March 31, 1999, at his home after a battle with cancer.
He was born in Brunswick, the son of Alexis and Anita Paquette Theberge. He attended local schools and graduated from Brunswick High School in 1968. In 1972, he graduated from the University of Southern ME with a bachelor’s degree in accounting. In 1976, he became a certified public accountant.
He married Linda Murray in 1972 at St. John the Baptist Church in Brunswick. They moved to Scarborough in 1980.
Mr. Theberge worked at Peak, Marwick and Mitchell Accounting in Portland after graduation. He later worked as a controller for several Portland area companies before becoming self-employed as a certified public accountant.
He was a former communicant of St. John the Baptist Church, a member of the American Independent Certified Public Accountants, and the ME Chapter of Independent CPAs.
He enjoyed hunting and hockey.
He is survived by his wife of Scarborough; his mother of Brunswick; a son, Michael J. Theberge of Scarborough; a daughter, Amy A. Theberge of Scarborough; five brothers, Patrick L. Theberge of Medford, Mass., Richard L. Theberge of Gorham, Robert C. Theberge of Harpswell, Leo G. Theberge of Brunswick, and Dr. Paul D. Theberge of Montréal; and a sister, Barbara A. Theberge of Brunswick.
A memorial Mass will be held Monday at 11:30 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Church. Burial will be in St. John’s Cemetery in Brunswick.
