SHARE - YOUR MEMORIES
UPDATE: APRIL 15, 2020
I've recreated this tribute to my grandmother as I continue to make these pages better, and I hope I AM making them better.  While it's been 20+ years she's been gone, maybe there are still people out there who remember her and may want to contribute their memory to this site.  If you are one of them, please, please, add you memory here.
UPDATE: AUGUST 10, 2015
I once had music automatically playing when viewing this page but most people don't like that so now I have a link to the YouTube channel to play this song:  "Vaya con Dios" if you care to listen.
If you would like to share a memory, feel free to do so using the Visitors / Guest Messages on this website.  Just use grandma's name as the subject and leave you story or comment... and thanks!
Pushing the button will take you to the Guest Messages (aka Guestbook) for the site where you can leave your memory or comment.
Via con Dios was, perhaps, my grandmothers favorite song; it was played at her funeral. The song was written by Larry Russell, Inez James, and Buddy Pepper in 1953. Les Paul and Mary Ford recorded the most popular version of this song that year, released by Capitol Records. It reached number one on both the Billboard Best Seller and the Cash Box charts.
As I was searching around the internet for music today (2020) I found I found a website, bobborst.com, (seems to no longer be working) that allowed me to put in any date, specify an occasion and find the number one song on that day. I put in my birthday in 1953. Lo and behold, #1 on my birthday in 1953 is this song. Is this just coincidence?
