"the sixth of October, nineteen hundred-thirty six, buried in the cemetery of this parish, the body of Joseph Gaulin, husband of "dame" Mary Lafrance", died the fourth of the current month at the age of sixty-four years, six months. Present at the burial were Antoine Gaulin and Pierre Valliere and many others." This entry reads "Mary Lafrance" and it is possible that this may not be Marie Lachance however, based on the age of Joseph Gaulin it is certain that this is, in fact, an entry error in the parish book on the last name of the wife. Present was Antoine Gauilin. Esdras and Marie had a son, Antoine, born in 1900. In addition, Esdras and Marie had a daughter, Marie-Anne, who married in Ste-Justine, 1928, Pierre Valliere (also present at the funeral).
